What is the icCart? - The icCart is a proprietary shopping cart program that Independent Commerce has created. It allows your customers to order your products and services securely from your website. It is designed to seamlessly integrate into your website. We use a pop up shopping cart. This allows your customers to add items to their cart while still being able to navigate your website. They won't be sent out of your website to the shopping cart.

This feature packed shopping cart is customizable to fit your needs.

Cost: $40/month prepaid annually

Upon ordering we will set up your account and email you a Username and Password.

Why is the icCart better? - We have a shopping cart that works.
There are many reasons customers do not order online = we have identified these and solved them with our cart.

Common Problems with shopping carts -
  • Can't verify the cart is secure - We have taken all means possible to make it easy for your customers to verify for themselves about the security of the cart.
  • Cart is too hard to use - We have designed our cart based on feedback from customers who place orders with the shopping cart, and have made this cart simple and easy to use.
  • Too much information to type into the cart - Your customers can create an account and the next time they order there contact information will be pre-filled in - making it easy to place the order.
  • Too many clicks to add something to the cart - We use a javascript window for the shopping cart. This allows your customers to add items to the cart without being taken away from your main website.
  • The shopping cart is too limiting - Many shopping carts require you to ship only certain ways (such as only with UPS) and others allow you to only accept certain payments (such as only with PayPal or Visa.) Our shopping cart allows you the flexibility to allow you to ship any way you want and to accept a variety of payment methods.

How it works
  1. Your customer adds items to your shopping cart.
  2. They then proceed to check out.
  3. If they have a user account they enter in their username or password.
    Their contact information will then be pre-filled in.
  4. Your customer then chooses the shipping options and the payment option.
  5. Once they submit their order they will get an email confirmation receipt.
  6. You will also recieve an email notifying you of an order.
  7. You log in to your secure cart admin page to retrieve the order that has been placed.
  8. You can print out the order for your records. You must manually enter
    any credit card numbers into your credit card terminal.
  9. You ship out the order if needed.
Simply cut and paste HTML for each item you offer into your website.
Use our code wizards to create the HTML for each item you offer.
Or have us add the HTML into your website for you.

Is the credit card verification automatic? - No we do not automatically verify the credit card information. We allow your customers to securely place their order and enter in a credit card number. We also allow you to securely retrieve the order and payment information. You will still need to manually run your credit card through your merchent account.

We have chosen to do it this way because to automatically verify a credit card requires your customer to enter in contact and payment information in a very specific and limited way. If they enter it any other way it will be rejected.

We feel that the point of a secure shopping cart is to allow customers to place orders as easily and securely as possible. If there are any barriers between your customer entering their information and clicking the Submit Order button you risk losing the sale.
